Gran Pajatén is an archaeological site located in the Andean forests of Peru, on the border between the La Libertad and San Martín regions, between the Marañon and Huallaga rivers. The site lies within the Río Abiseo National Park and was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site between 1990 and 1992.
Recent research using technologies such as LiDAR has revealed over 100 new structures, redefining the scope and significance of the site.
