The Nazca Hummingbird is approximately 94 meters long with a wingspan of 66 meters, and it is visible only from above. In Andean cultures, the hummingbird was considered a divine messenger, capable of connecting the human world with that of the gods and spirits.

In the Puquio region, near Nazca, it was also associated with rituals to invoke rain, essential for life in the arid environment of the Peruvian desert.
